Sweemee: Founding Product, Brand & Motion Design

The Challenge

Being the founding designer means there's no existing system to lean on, and no one else to hand ambiguity to. Every gap in the product, the brand, or the interaction model was mine to close while still shipping real features on a real timeline for a platform people were actually using.

My Process

1. Building the system before building features
Rather than designing features in isolation, I built the atomic design system and component library first establishing the foundation every subsequent feature would be designed against. This meant later features shipped faster and more consistently, without reinventing patterns each time.

2. Owning end-to-end interaction design
I designed and shipped key product features across web and mobile: a Blog section, advanced Content Creation tools, an Offline Reader, and an SMS-connected messaging system each requiring distinct interaction patterns while still feeling like one coherent product.

3. Defining the brand from nothing
Beyond product, I shaped Sweemee's complete visual identity typography, color system, tone so the brand felt consistent whether someone encountered it in the app, on social media, or in a marketing post.

4. Treating motion as logic, not decoration
I brought subtle animation into the interface as core interaction logic reinforcing state changes, feedback, and hierarchy rather than treating motion as a layer of polish added at the end.

5. Extending the brand into growth
I extended the same visual and brand language into marketing design, making sure the brand people encountered in an ad or a social post matched exactly what they experienced once they opened the product.
